A hydrogen electrode is composed of a platinum plate coated with platinum black and immersed in hydrogen atmosphere or partially immersed in an electrolyte saturated with hydrogen. The electrode potential EH2 is related to the temperature T, the pH value of the solution and the pressure of hydrogen, pH2 (atmospheric pressure).
